What’s new in April?

Spring is coming! Craving for something new and fresh in your life and wardrobe? Good news, the Deer&Doe Spring-Summer 2018 collection is around the corner!

That’s right, there will be a Spring-Summer collection this year, even though my maternity leave meant we had to push it back a little. We’ve been working on three new patterns, and we’re right in the midst of the pre-release rush – Camille has been sewing non-stop, creating the samples for the photo-shoot, and I’ve been finishing the instruction booklets and pattern layouts!

The release date for the new collection is planned for May, and like every season we can’t wait to show you the patterns (and we’re crossing our fingers hoping you’ll like them!). For us personally, even after many muslins and pattern tests, we want to sew all of them!

While we wait for the release of the new collection, we’re curious to hear what you’re dreaming of for spring… Let us know!

I really hope that one day you’ll come out with a little jacket – i love Lupin but have been dreaming for years about a little bit smarter jacket one can wear with jeans and with smarter skirts and pants to be a bit more elegant… a semi blazer that’s darted and collared and ends a couple of inches below the waist, i have 1940s patterns in this vein but they are big shouldered and tiny sizes

Bonjour ☀️

Ah I can’t wait (and neither can my sewing machine) but then, you have to wait for your new baby Eleonore! I suppose that we’re all playing the waiting game.

Dreamin’ about lightweight relaxed wrap shirts or tunics with a slight bell sleeve; “drygoods” type Henley pullover of a med weight cotton (ages to perfect with time); and the perfectly simple and flattering mid-knee length wrap dress (Batik, Indigo) =]

oooh I’m curious!!! the fabrics you chose and the vibe of the pictures here, are very promising already 😉

    Seconded

Knits that flatter, i.e. knits with some darts. Also, a lined jacket with exposed zips and simple lines, longer than Lupin, a tad shorter than Lucerne.
I’m a knit fanatic, and will often compensate knit for woven on most sewing patterns. I just size down, add interfacing, grade the darts for bulk, etc.
I love clean, simple lines–blank canvases for my own creativity and interpretation. Plus, with an extreme hourglass figure (very skinny, big boobs, huge butt, swayback), knits and stretch wovens help alleviate such extreme adjustments.
Love you guys and have been a loyal fan since you had to buy patterns either in person or on your site!

Your patterns always have clean and simple lines, with an understated elegance and I can’t wait to see what’s next. What I’d love is something smart to wear to work – a jacket and maybe another nice dress or a top …

Congratulations on the pregnancy. Take care.

Somethin’ fancy! 😉

(Seriously, though, I know we all need good basics but I feel like the sewing community has gone full cake lately and I neeeeeeeed some frosting in my life.)
