Spring 2019 at Deer&Doe HQ: new hire and new projects

It’s been a while since we published a blog post about our daily life here at Deer&Doe. This spring has been full of small and big projects, and we wanted to share with you all the things that we’re excited for!

The start of the season was of course marked by the release of our spring-summer collection, and in particular the Sirocco jumpsuit which has been a huge and sudden success! Delivery after delivery from our printer, we’re still struggling to keep it in stock! We are so incredibly touched by the warm welcome given to this pattern, which energized us for the rest of the year.

In the midst of this eventful release, we put out a call to expand our small team: this is how Sylvie joined Deer&Doe on the Customer Relationship side! If you get in contact with us, you’re likely to get a cheerful and enthusiastic answer from her 😀 .

With this new team member, we were able to dive into a very ambitious project for the end of the year: we’ve decided to replace our fall-winter collection with an ebook containing not three, but nine patterns, plus lots of additional content! We’re currently deep into pattern development (letting our creativity run free!), and we’ll tell you more about this project, which should materialize at the end of the year, in an upcoming blog post 😉 . Until then, we’re hope you’ll get as excited about it as we are!

Wow, lots of news here! First of all, welcome to Sylvie. Second, congratulations on the roaring success of Scirocco. Beautiful design. I didn’t get it as in Malta summer’s so hot that I never really wear any form of knit except linen jersey which is a bit too fragile for jumpsuits. Third, wow 9 patterns! But an ebook? Since patternsy came along meaning more affordable A0 patterns I’m more liable to buy PDFs. But their tissue is so fine that like with the big 4 brands I can’t use my blade to cut the straight lines which means lots of very slow and careful snipping. I love your paper, it’s so resilient. So I’m iffy about this move…

Thank you Francesca! It is a real pleasure to work for Deer&Doe!
What I like the most is reading your kind of comments, where I can hear the joy of a customer, a few opinions,… and the curiosity for the upcoming patterns!
Stay tuned for more information about the ebook 😉

I love your patterns ,they are beautifully designed. The directions are clear and I love the booklet format and the illustrations. The sizing is true and I like that you include complete finished measurements. My daughters get many compliments when they wear clothes made from your patterns.Recently Named Patterns released a wonderful book with many patterns included. The patterns are great ,albeit a little difficult to untangle from each other. I’m old fashioned and I do prefer paper patterns or at the very least PDFs with layers. It is especially nice if the sizes are identified by color.Im excited about your new book and hope you consider releasing it in a form I can put on my bookshelf as well.
