Once again, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your comments on the Centaurée dress! I’m really happy to announce that, for the moment, it’s the pattern with the best release since the creation of Deer&Doe and this is all thanks to you!

I also want to take this chance to reply to a question that I’ve seen here and there: many of you asked if Centaurée, like the other patterns, is designed for a C or D cup bust. The answer, as you can see from the testers, is definitely a yes! Marion’s body is a little different than Camille’s (a larger back and a smaller bust), so the samples look a little different on her 🙂 (I will soon write more about different body shapes)

Centaurée is also a pattern that involves a few technical points, both relating to fit and finishing, and that’s why I invite you to participate with me to the:

Centaurée Sew-Along, starting on Wednesday, May 21st 2014!

Centaurée Sew-Along

<div align="center"><a href="http://blog-en.deer-and-doe.fr/category/centauree-sew-along/" title="Centaurée Sew-Along"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/BYBcNXX.png" /></a></div>

You can join the sew-along by simply adding the banner to your blog (be sure to grab the code above). And even if you don’t blog, don’t hesitate to share pictures on Instagram with the #deeranddoe and #centaureesewalong hashtags!

During this sew-along, we will tackle many pattern modifications:

  • Using multiple sizes
  • Lengthening and shortening the bodice
  • Small bust (SBA) and full bust (FBA) adjustments

We will also cover how to construct the dress::

  • Sewing the bodice and adding piping
  • Installing the invisible zipper
  • Gathering the skirt
  • Making your own bias tape
  • Sewing and adjusting the straps
  • Hemming the skirt

But the best part, which I’m really happy to announce, is that the sew-along will include many detailed techniques in video! Every step of construction will be explained in little videos, which, I hope, will help you to better visualize the techniques 🙂

So, will you join me on the 21st of May? (if you live abroad, please consider ordering your pattern at least 10 working days before!)
