Thanks again for giving the Passiflore dress such a warm welcome! This week, we’ll share some inspiration for each version of this multi-faceted pattern.

Let’s start today with version A, with three different styles to inspire your Passiflore maxi dress.

Boho-chic

Maxi dresses are perfect for the summer: breezy, romantic and easy to wear, they have it all. For a boho-chic Passiflore, think fabric first and pick a very lightweight fabric (3 to 5 oz.) with a fluid drape: rayon crepe or twill, modal, tencel, loosely woven cotton voile…

Opt for bright colors and cheerful prints, and wear your pretty dress with sandals or with sneakers for an urban vibe.

Safari Dress

Another huge trend of the season is the timeless safari shirt and all of its variations. To channel your favorite adventurer, chose a lightweight fabric (4 to 6 oz.) with a nice drape and a natural look: linen mixes (with cotton, rayon or tencel) or crepes are ideal.

Go for earthy and neutral tones, like black, beige, khaki or camel, to blend in the urban landscape. And for the bold among us, an animal print is always sure to get noticed!

Coat Dress

Don’t feel like waiting for warmer weather to sew Passiflore? Go with the coat-dress trend! Choose a lightweight fabric with a good drape (4 to 6 oz.), maybe even with a little stretch to get more ease of movement. Light wool and cotton twills or sateens will emphasize the outerwear aspect of your garment.

As for colors and patterns, your best bet are solids and colors that are evocative of outerwear: navy blue, camel, black, grey, brown, burgundy or forest green are always good ideas… but you could also go for bright red!
